History of Arai Pump

1926 commenced the design and study of pump technology by Yoshiaki Koarai/Mr.

1930 commenced the production and sales of various pumps for industries and civilian service at the location of 4-chome, Saiwai-cho, Nishi-ku, Osaka, Japan (Head Quarter and the main Plant) under a private undertaking owned by Yoshiaki Koarai/Mr., who is the founder of Arai Pump Manufacturing Company. The company name gAraih has come from his family name - KoArai.

1932 established the second Plant at 2-chome, Tsumori, Nishinari-ku, Osaka, Japan, where is the same location as the present Main Plant, in proportion to the increase of order.

1934 established and moved the Head Quarter and Main Plant to the present location adjacent to the second Plant expanded.

1942 received much recognition of Arai Pump's superior technology and quality and designated as Japanese Navy- controlled company and engaged in the manufacturing of various pumps such as Fuel Charge Pumps being loaded into the First Class Aircraft Career, Battle Ship and First Class Cruise under the control of Japanese Navy Technical Department.

1945 released from the Japanese Government control spontaneously due to the termination of the second World War and changed immediately into the manufacture of civilian pumps.

1946 recognized into the Corporation named Arai Pump Mfg. Co., Ltd. with the respect to the capital, limited to 800,000 J.Yen (investment in Kind) owing to the regulation of financial adjustment and commenced the development and study of Process Pumps for Refinery Service by our own technology.

1948 designated as the Works of Bureau of Commerce and Industry (Coal & Oil) in proportion to the production increase of process pumps.

1951 As released from Us-controlled oil refining industries, commenced immediately into the manufacturing of the process pumps for refinery and petrochemical plant by our own technical development and have not collaborated with the foreign technical developments.

1956 developed Vertical In-Line centrifugal process pumps for Refineries

1957 developed Molten Fused Salt service pump operating at pumping temperature of 550 degree Centigrade.

1959 developed High pressure Charge pumps operating at pressure of 15MPa.

1961 increased the capital to 3,200,000 J.Yen (Transfer of Revaluation Reserve).

1963 increased the capital to 6,400,000 J.Yen (Transfer of Revaluation Reserve).

1964 developed Cryogenic Service Pump operating at temperature of minus 120 degree Centigrade (Ethylene) for Naphtha Cracking Unit.

1967 Under the management by the second president of Makoto Koarai/Mr., designated the production system as One-Off Flexible production System to concentrate the manufacturing of Heavy-Duty process pumps for refinery, petrochemical and gas-processing industries and the research and development of custom engineered heavy-duty pumps.

1969 increased the capital to 7,040,000 J.Yen. In proportion to the production increase, established a fully-invested affiliated company, that is, Shinwa Kosakusho K.K. (Capital: 36,000,000 J.Yen) located at Osaka, Japan to expand the machining production system. (The extension of the Main Plant is impossible due to local environmental regulation.)

1971 increased the capital to 10,000,000 J.Yen.

1972 developed the flexible machining unit for In-Line pump pressure-casing parts to establish the flexible One-Off production system.

1975 expanded the test facilities such as performance and mechanical testing.

1978 expanded the performance test facilities.

1982 commenced the study and development of flexible Small -Lots automatic production system mounting by Machining Center.

1985 commenced the study and development of CAE to rationalize the engineering/procurement workforce.

1986 developed Tantalum pump for high temperature Acid service.

1988 developed None-Seal Vertical Slurry pumps.

1990 commenced CAD to establish the flexible One-Off design and engineering drawing system.

1991 modified the production facilities to rationalize the production line.

1995 expand the test facilities to double capacities and expand pump assembling, & piping assembling line , the modernization of welding & Painting facilities.
